The Iran–U.S Conflict | From Strategic Cooperation to Regional Confrontation.

Image
~  Introduction The nuclear conflict between Iran and the United States is often interpreted through the narrow lens of weapons proliferation and diplomatic breakdown. However, a deeper historical analysis shows that it is the outcome of a long transformation that began in cooperation and evolved into strategic hostility. The roots of Iran’s nuclear program lie in a period when Iran was a close ally of the United States, deeply integrated into Western strategic planning. Over time, however, political revolution, regional wars, and shifting geopolitical interests transformed nuclear technology from a development tool into a symbol of sovereignty, deterrence, and strategic resistance. The United States, meanwhile, moved from supporting Iran’s nuclear development to attempting to contain and restrict it through sanctions, diplomacy, and at times military pressure. The result is a prolonged structural conflict shaped not only by policy decisions but by fundamentally different perceptio...

Overcoming Life's Challenges: Finding Strength, Growth, and Opportunity in Every Struggle

Image
Embracing Life's Challenges: Opportunities in Every Struggle Life is a journey—sometimes smooth, sometimes bumpy, but always with lessons to teach. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle, to focus only on the obstacles, and forget that within every challenge lies a hidden opportunity. It's not the absence of difficulties that defines success, but the way we face and overcome them. As the famous Urdu poet Allama Iqbal said: "خُود کو کر بلند اتنا کہ ہر تقدیر سے پہلے خُدا بندے سے خود پُوچھے، بتا، تیری رضا کیا ہے؟" ( Raise yourself to such heights that before every destiny, God Himself will ask, "What is it that you desire?" ) Life will throw curveballs, and at times, it feels like we're drowning in the waves of struggle. But remember: it’s in those moments of discomfort, frustration, and uncertainty that we grow the most. Success isn't found in the calm seas, but in navigating through the storms with resilience. The Struggles: Why We Can't Escape ...

The War in Ukraine and the Potential Impact on Pakistan’s Trade

Russia launched a full-scale military invasion into Ukraine in February 2022, sending a clear message to the world about Russia’s opposition against further NATO expansion toward Russia and against Ukraine’s intentions of joining NATO in the future. The war is taking a devastating human toll and will likely have lasting effects on global trade, particularly the energy markets. This will not bode well for Pakistan which is already suffering from high inflation and low economic growth, and political instability, particularly the looming vote of no-confidence against the Prime Minister. Historically, Pakistan has maintained bilateral economic ties with Russia and Ukraine. In the last 24 years, Pakistan’s exports to Russia have increased at an annualized rate of 13.6% from USD 13.1M in 1996 to USD 279M in 2020, while Russia’s exports to Pakistan have increased at an annualized rate of 10.2% from USD 67.6M in 1996 to USD 699M in 2020. On the other hand, in the last 24 years, Paki...

MonkeyPox.?

Monkeypox is a rare disease caused by infection with the monkeypox virus. Monkeypox virus belongs to the  Orthopoxvirus   genus in the family  Poxviridae . The  Orthopoxvirus  genus also includes variola virus (which causes smallpox), vaccinia virus (used in the smallpox vaccine), and cowpox virus. Monkeypox is not related to chickenpox. Monkeypox was first discovered in 1958 when two outbreaks of a pox-like disease occurred in colonies of monkeys kept for research. Despite being named “monkeypox”, the source of the disease remains unknown. However, African rodents and non-human primates (like monkeys) may harbor the virus and infect people. The first human case of monkeypox was recorded in 1970. Since then, monkeypox has been reported in people in several other central and western African countries. Prior to the  2022 outbreak , nearly all monkeypox cases in people outside of Africa were linked to international travel to countries where the disease...

To fight inflation, we must fight climate change

Next week i receive the latest  figures  on inflation. No doubt the dramatic, almost overnight,  shift  in consumption from in-person services to remote-ordered goods are part of the problem. So are  mangled  supply chains, as key  workers  miss work due to the coronavirus,  here  and  overseas . And Russia’s  brutal  invasion of Ukraine has impacted  global food  and  energy   supplies .  Largely ignored as an inflationary driver, however, has been climate change.  Like  the  pandemic , climate change is a global problem manifesting itself in  countless   ways ,  many   well-hidden . Unlike the pandemic, it will get  worse , not better, for the foreseeable future. If we wish to control inflation, we must address climate change now.  Because climate change affects prices across many sectors, its impact is easy to miss. Think of a simple loaf of multigrai...
